KARYOTYPIC STUDY OF TRIFOLIUM SPECIES
AND CULTIVARS IN IRAN
Trifolium species and cultivars are considered important forage crops iran ,
growing throughout the country. The present article considered the karyotypic details
of Trvulim taxa using multivariate statistical analysis. Taxa studied included:
Trifolim restylinatum (six populations: Shazand, Soriyan, Kordestan, Harati, Enaj
and Lordegan), T. repense, T, fragverm, T. prateme and T, alexandrinm. Somatic
chromosome numbers from 2n=14 in T. prateme to 2n=32 in T. repeme. Most of the
chromosomes were of m type with a few M and sm. Only in T. pratense was a single
subtelocentric (st) chromosome observed. Karl Pearson coefficient of correlation for
karyological data showed occurrence of structural changes in chromosomes. Statistied
analysis of data based on a factorial experimentreveafed a significant difference in the
size of chmmosomes in taxa studied. Factor analysis followed by Varimax rotation
showed that chromosomes 2,s and 5 are the chromosomes which undergo extensive
changes during genomic differentiation in the Trifulium taxa studied. Cluster analysis using UPGMA and WARD methods as well as ordination of the taxa on the first two prinvipal component axes produced five distinct clusters indicating genomic differences among taxa studied. Data obtained can be used in further breeding programs.

USE OF ORGANIC SOLVENTS FOR THE
ENHANCEMENT AND LIFETIME INCREASING
OF LUMINESCENCE IN FLUORIMETRIC
APPLICATION BY FLUORESCAMINE
In this study, the fluorogenic efficiency of fluorescamine for spectrofluorimetric
analysis of primary amines was investigated. Different mixtures of dichloromethane
and other organic solvents were used for evaluation of fluorescence stability and
intensity of fluorescamine derivative (Pyrrolinone). Solvents such as acetonitrile
(ACN), tetrahydrofuran (THF) and dioxane increase stability and intensity of
fluorescence, whereas methanol, acetic acid and dimethyl sulfoxide have a decreasing
effect. Calibration graph equations in optimum solvent system were obtained for
spectrofluorimetric determination of norepinephrine as a model compound in the
range of 0.1 - 1 .O ppm in 10 minute intervals. Results obtained show a good correlation coefficient and excellent reproducibility (RSD% = 0.82, C = 0.5 ppm, n = 6). Using the first set of solvents, reproducibility of spectrofluorimetry is excellent (RSD% = 0.82).

SEPARATION OF POLYCYCLIC AROMATIC
HYDROCARBONS WITH MIXED MICELLAR
HIGH PERFORMANCE LIQUID
CHROMATOGRAPHY
Separation of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons was performed by RP-HPLC
using mixed micellar mobile phase. Effect of temperature, types and amounts of coorganic solvent in mobile phase on efficiency, asymmetry factor and selectivity factor
showed that the appropriate condition for separation of these compounds was 3% isopropanol (V/V) as co-organic solvent in mobile phase at 40°C. Analysis of the tridimensional plots of variation of SDS si.d Brij-35 concentration on selectivity factor
showed that the optimum conditions were 45-65 mM of SDS and 1-1.5 mM of Brij-
35 in micellar mobile phase

A CONVENIENT SYNTHESIS OF
MACROCYCLIC DIAMIDES
Some new macrocyclic dibenzotrioxadiamides, dibenzotetraoxadiamide,
dibenzopentaoxadiamide, dibenzothiatrioxadiamide, tribenzotrioxadiamides and
tetrabenzohexaoxadiamide (14-21), (26) and (27) have been prepared. These
compounds were obtained in the macrocyclization step by reacting the diamine (4)
with appropriak dicaxboxylic acid dichlorides (5-13) and (24). The cyclization does
not require high dilution techniques or template effect and provides the expected
dilactams in high yields ranging from 70% to 95%.

LIQUEFACTION POTENTIAL ASSESSMENT
USING MULTILAYER ARTIFICIAL NEURAL
NETWORK
In this study, a low-cost, rapid and qualitative evaluation procedure is presented
using dynamic pattern recognition analysis to assess liquefaction potential which is
useful in the planning, zoning, general hazard assessment, and delineation of areas,
Dynamic pattern recognition using neural networks is generally considered to be an
effective tool for assessing of hazard potential on the basis of established criteria. In
this paper, the classification operation, in which an input pattern is passed to the
network and the network produces a representative class as output, is considered for
evaluation of liquefaction hazard potential. The application of Multilayer Artificial
Neural Network for the prediction of liquefaction was examined in the northwest of
Iran (Gilan Plain). The study area suffered acatastrophic earthquake in June 1990 and most of the damage to lifeline facilities and structures in urban areas was brought
about by liquefaction phenomena. The simulated results by multilayer artificial
neural network in this study revealed the high capability of this method to predict the
liquefaction potential of soils

QUASI-PERMUTATION REPRESENTATIONS OF
METACYCLIC 2-GROUPS
By a quasi-permutation matrix we mean a square matrix over the complex field C
with non-negative integral trace. Thus, every permutation matrix over C is a quasipermutation matrix. For a given finite group G, let p(G) denote the minimal degree of a faithful permutation representation of G (or of a faithful representation of G by permutation matrices), let q(G) denote the minimal degree of a faithful representation of G by quasi-permutation matrices over the rational field Q, and let c(G) be the minimal degree of a faithful representation of G by complex quasi-permutation matrices. In this paper, we will calculate the irreducible modules and characters of metacyclic 2-groups and we also find c(G), q(G) and p(G) for these groups.

PERMUTATION GROUPS WITH BOUNDED
MOVEMENT ATTAINING THE BOUNDS FOR
ODD PRIMES
Let G be a transitive permutation group on a set ? and let m be a positive integer.
If no element of G moves any subset of ? by more than m points, then |? | [2mp I
(p-1)] wherep is the least odd primedividing |G |. When the bound is attained, we show that | ? | = 2 p q ….. q where ? is a non-negative integer with 2 < p, r 1 and q is a prime satisfying p < q < 2p, ? = 0 or 1, I i n. Furthermore, every 2-element of G fixes at least [2m/(p- 1)] points and each q -element of G fixes at least [2m(q -p)/(p- 1)( q - l)] points. Finally, we prove that if G is a p-group of exponent, at least p2 and I ? l = [2mp /(p- l)], then every fixed point free element of G has order p.

EFFECT OF COMPOSITION ON THE MAGNETIC
BEHAVIOUR OF Gd2X COMPOUND
The eigenvalues of the isotropic magnetic interaction system extraction from
Internal Field Approximation (IFA) q e computed. on the basis of RKKY for the
complicated magnetic behaviour of Gd, X system X= (Au , Pt , Al , In ) as well
as Gd. From the strength and slope of eigenvalue curves in different ranges of
interaction the strength and sharpness of the magnetic transition can be suggested. It
is shown that the values of the first transition temperature "T " as ferromagnetic
ordering "F.M", as well as its sharpness in the short-range interaction "R ", includes
at least two atomic layers, this being in agreement with reported experimental results.
In the long-range interaction, the second transition is predicted to be of the
antiferromagnetic order "AF.M" for Gd ,Al and Gd , In. It becomes impossible to see
the second transition for Gd Pt and Gd Au as interaction range is increased. For pure
metallic "Gd", however, the transition is shown to be of the helicoidal type in the range
of " 12- 17" A?, where all of these results correspond to experimental observations
