		<Abstract>Two nano-sized mixed-ligand Cd (II) coordination polymers; [Cd (4,4&#039; -bpy) (C&lt;sub&gt;4&lt;/sub&gt;H&lt;sub&gt;4&lt;/sub&gt;O&lt;sub&gt;4&lt;/sub&gt;)].1/4 H&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt;O (1) and[Cd(bpy)&lt;sub&gt;1.5&lt;/sub&gt; (NO&lt;sub&gt;3&lt;/sub&gt;)&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt;].3H&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt;O (2) (bpy=bipiridine) were synthesized by a sonochemical method and characterized by elemental analyses, thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), differential thermal analysis (DTA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The crystallinity of these compounds were studied by Powder X-ray diffraction (XRD). CdO nanostructures were obtained by direct calcinations of nano polymers at 400 &lt;sup&gt;o&lt;/sup&gt;C. The cadmium (II) oxidenano-particles were characterized by Powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).</Abstract>
